Description
The San Diego Air & Space Museum is a Smithsonian-affiliated museum located in Balboa Park that celebrates the history, innovation, and future of aviation and space exploration. Through educational programs, and immersive experiences, the Museum inspires visitors of all ages to explore science, technology, engineering, and innovation. With a strong commitment to education and community outreach, the Museum provides engaging STEAM learning opportunities for students, families, and underserved communities throughout San Diego.
Lunch Notes
Back Patio Café: Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 30 guests.
Café Hours: Open Friday–Sunday and on the second Tuesday of each month for Free Tuesday.
Water Station: A water refill station/fountain is located at the back of the Museum, across from the men’s restroom and next to the back patio doors.
Outdoor Lunch: Guests may also enjoy lunch picnic-style outside the Museum’s front entrance.
Lunch Storage: A designated lunch storage area is available next to the Admissions Desk. There is no refrigeration or locker storage available.
Wagons: All lunches and related items must fit within 2–3 wagons.

Cancellation Policy
We understand circumstances around field trip bookings may change at a moment's notice. We ask to please send an email at least a week out confirming your field trip cancellation to fill in that field trip timeslot with another booking.

Self-guided field trips to the Air and Space Museum are a fantastic opportunity for you and your students to walk around at your own pace, explore hands-on exhibits, marvel at aircraft, and journey out of this world and into space exploration. Self-guided visits also include admission for the 3D/4D theater and special exhibits.
